Welcome

Welcome to my website. I am Ing. Dr. Kenneth Ashigbey, Chief Executive of the Ghana Chamber of Mines. At the Chamber, people simply call me Ken or Togbi.
I joined the Chamber of Mines after serving with the Telecom Chamber, starting on June 1, 2025. Before that, I completed my national service as Chief Servant at Graphic Communications Group Limited, Ghana’s leading media organisation. I was also Chief Operating Officer at Multimedia Group Ltd (Multi TV) from 2010 to 2011, and earlier, from 2003 to 2006, I worked there as Chief Technology Officer and General Manager of Joy FM. Between my roles at Multimedia Group, I served as Managing Director of Optimum Media Prime (OMP), a communications and event management company.

I also worked as Senior Projects Engineer at Fanel Ltd, where I designed and installed electrical building services for three multi-story office complexes in the capital, among other projects.

I recently completed an MA in IT Law from the University of Ghana School of Law. I also hold a Doctorate in Business Administration from the Swiss Management Centre, an MBA from Leicester University (UK), and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. I am a certified project management professional and have a Certificate in Company Direction from IoD UK. I am a Fellow of several professional bodies, including the Ghana Institution of Engineers, Ghana Institute of Management, Institute of Chartered Economists in Ghana, Board Room Institute, and African Project and Programme Management Association. I am also a member of the Ghana Journalists Association and the Institute of Public Relations, Ghana.

1.-ACGM-2025-12-22-at-09.27.02 WelcomeI serve on several boards. I coordinate my year group at St. Augustine’s College, Cape Coast, and convene both the Media Coalition Against Galamsey and the Coalition Against Galamsey, Ghana.
I am a strong believer in Ghana and hold these views:
  • Ghana’s development depends on Ghanaians leading key industries at home and working with top global partners to grow our industries.
  • Ghanaians should know our roots, take pride in them, and use that foundation to shape our future.
  • We can only develop by staying true to who we are as Ghanaians.
  • As Ghanaians, we should support each other, learn from our failures, and keep moving forward.
  • Only Ghanaians can lead Ghana’s development; no one else will do it for us.
  • The time for complaints has passed. Now, we should ask ourselves, what change can I make?
I am passionate about agri-business and believe Ghana and Africa can be transformed through technology-driven, integrated agribusiness—from production to value addition and marketing.
My vision is to transform Abutia Kpota, where I have my farms, into a model town within 30 years through modern agri-business.

Great CV and now that I know that you are the Editor in Chief..I would like you to take a look at the subtle plagiarism that has occurred at the International pages of Graphic for the past 3years either because of change in style or design or whatever it is. Attributions in journalism are statement that deserve reference to their makers especially when an author decides to use them either vividly or paraphrases it to give their article credibility from a primary source. Attribution are different from sources. When the stories on the foreign pages are written to accommodate attribution and sources are left out? That amount to plagiarism….what then do I refer to as source? When 50% or more of the content of your story is taken word-for-word, or thought-by-thought from another media organization, then you need to state that source. E.g, story from Uganda….mostly written by BBC with some attributions to Reuters will be found in Graphic …the same but the source would not be stated..they usually will write Kampala. Please deal with that. This was not the case until 2010. Take a look at the paper you will see the difference. Sources (original idea holder of the story) need to be clarified like Graphic (in the past) and Ghanaian Times and all other newspaper around the world do. Let me know what it is Graphic is practicing. May be it is a new form of journalism and would like to learn it. Thank you.

Ben thanks, it is the grace of God and the great team at Graphic that has brought us this far. We thank God. Yes we cannot drop our guard. There is still work to be done to ensure that we can immortalize what we do so that our work can stand the test of time. My question to myself is how will I be remembered 100 years after I am dead & gone. If I get to heaven & my work non earth can be remembered a 100 years after I am gone, then I am successful.
