Lets call as it is Political Thuggery and not Vigilantes
This is my post on Facebook on this menace of Political violence and the thugs that are used to perpetuate it. Vigilante Group is an exalted word used to describe thugs, hoodlums, gangsters. Vigilantes work without legal backing, but might work for good to uphold law & ensure the right things are done.
The definition is a member of a self-appointed group of citizens who undertake law enforcement in their community without legal authority, typically because the legal agencies are thought to be inadequate.
These people are not enforcing law, they are causing mayhem and their violence for hire and we have adequate legal law enforcement agencies.
We do not need them in our country, we need civil society, professionals, ordinary Ghanaian citizens like myself to stand up against them & their pay masters.
This is what my brother John Tagoe posted in reply. Perfectly right Ken. They should be obliterated from the system. This what Joojo Kelly said I greet you Snr. The current spate of thuggery, gangsterism and hoodlumism if not checked would lead the Nation-State Ghana to the the precipice. Non would be spared.

We all as Ghanaians, Civil Society Organizations, Traditional Leaders, Religious Leaders and all ordinary Ghanaians like myself should all stand up and speak against is political gangsterism, it has to stop now
