Don’t judge till you have asked
This picture was shared by my kid brother who is now my Father, Rev. Fr. Teresa Cross Codjoe on facebook. The lesson it taught me is that before you conclude and make judgment ask, research or find out. One of the lessons I learnt about women, was taught by a hen on my farm at Abutia Kpota. The hen had food which had food will break them to small pieces and feed to the chicks around, not all were her offspring. Then a cock jumps in there and all he will do is want it all for himself. The hen then drive him away and comes back to feeding the chicks before she ate. No wonder the Akans calls God ‘Asaseyaa’. I am sure that in Christianity we are getting it wrong by referring to God as He . If He is God the Father, then He gave women too much of Himself when He created them, women, in His true likeness and image.Read Father’s post;
Looking at this photograph you might have lots of negative or positive thoughts in your mind. However after knowing the reality of this photograph, you may have tears in your eyes. In one of the European countries an old man was sentenced to starve to death in prison, so the story goes.
His daughter pleaded with the government to be allowed to meet her father daily until his death. She was granted permission . The prison officers would search her to make sure she didn’t bring any food items.
She couldn’t watch her father starve to death. She looked at her father with the eyes of a caring mother. So in order to keep her father alive she fed him breast milk on daily basis.
When after many days the old man was not dead the security guards became suspicious. They caught the girl breastfeeding her father. A case was brought against her but her demonstration of love and sacrifice touched the heart of the Judge and won her father’s freedom.
This painting is one of Europe’s most expensive art work.
A woman is full of love and sacrifice, whatever the role she is playing in one’s life sometime she can be a mother, sister, wife etc.
