Mr. President we are hopeful you will investigate the accusation of the Chiefs of Amansie

My friend Edudzi Kudzo Tameklo on facebook shared this link, https://mobile.ghanaweb.com/GhanaHomePage/regional/Deal-with-your-own-people-if-you-want-galamsey-curbed-Amansie-Chiefs-to-Akufo-Addo-670717  and had these comments with it, tagging me.

The paramount Chief of Amansie in the ASHANTI region has boldly accused the NPP ASHANTI Regional Chairman , also known as ‘Chairman Wontumi’ and the former General Secretary of the NPP who is now the Director of the Forestry Commission , Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie aka ‘Sir John ‘ for engaging in illegal mining in a forest reserve in his paramouncy.

This is in clear defiance to the ongoing ‘Operation Vanguard’ joint exercise to stop galamsey . He made that accusation directly to the President when the President visited there as reported in the media . Will parliament demand full disclosure or investigations over this matter from the Minister of Natural Resources, Peter Amewu or will the President sack these persons accused of this criminal conduct as he did to Paul Afoko and Kwabena Adjapong (who were not even engaged in anything illegal or criminal)? Will the good people of Ghana and civil society pursue this matter to its end to ascertain the truth in support of the Operation Vanguard or they will pretend neither to have heard the Paramount Chief nor believe what he told the President in the face over the criminal conduct of his appointees are even worth the fight against corruption and naked exploitation of national resources by a few appointees. #FoodForThought

This was my response to him

Edem Ashigbi This cannot be brushed aside. We hope that the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will look into the allegation and let us know what the out come is. We accuse the Chiefs of not acting, now one of them have come out. He said it to the Minister of Chieftancy and Religious Affairs who I am sure has passed it on to H.E President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. I am hopeful the President will act on it for us to know the truth. The Media Coalition Against Galamsey is waiting with bated breath.

The Steering Committee of the Media Coalition is discussing the issue and we will come out very.
