A Barbaric and Wicked Policeman – Open Letter to the IGP from Maama Gomashie

Dear IGP,

BOUNDARIES HAVE BEEN OVERSTEPPED

I am sure you have seen the video of one of your own beating a woman with her child in her hands which has gone viral.

I would usually not judge without hearing the full story or let’s just say, without hearing both sides of a story. You know why, well, I have lost very dear friends who have judged because they believed a lot of twisted stories without giving me the benefit of the doubt.

Sir, unfortunately, I do not need to hear both sides of thi story. Why, because no matter what the story is, this is an assault. Worse still, this woman has a child, an infant, in her hands as a uniformed officer of the law (judging from the uniform) pummel her.

Another troubling part, sir, is the fellow who did not stop the Policeman from beating the woman but who took the infant so the Policeman could beat her some more.

Where are the workers of that institution. Who was recording it. Why didn’t anyone come to her aid. Why should a uniformed officer descend to this level. #ChangeTheModeOfTraining

Until we punish severely, those who physically hurt others as their way of settling issues, the unfortunate incidents of mob lynching, killings etc will continue.

By the way Sir, I was horrified in the manner in which the case regarding those misfits, who “misbehaved” in the court in Kumasi, was handled. I hope this doesn’t become the second one.

Come on! Do something to change the status quo. This animalistic, uncouth, uncultured, despeccable behaviours MUST STOP!

This woman deserves ….

Thank you,
A very upset citizen.
Abla Dzifa Gomashie

NB/
I can literally hear you own saying she was being stubborn. That makes me very angry! ..and Sir, I will not be sharing the video. It is still violence. Too debasing, dehumanizing, primitive etc!
