Yes we should commemorate the 60th Anniversary – it is worth celebrating

There are those who question, what do we have to be happy about as we mark 60th anniversary. This is the question the cynics ask when the Happy 60th Anniversary greeting is shared.

Yes there are somethings to be happy about. How many countries have been able to do what we have done in terms of governance and democracy? The stability, the contribution to International Civil Service, etc.

We have 3 Ex Presidents with the sitting President all in attendance at the 60th Anniversary parade. How many countries can boast of this?

18.-Nana-Independence Yes we should commemorate the 60th Anniversary - it is worth celebratingYes there are several things to be ashamed of too the poverty, filth, disease (after all we had cholera kill our people – death from eating our own pooo poo) & we should spend a lot of the time in reflective mood to see how we transform Ghana into a first world.

In all of this what we need to ask is what is my contribution to making Ghana the greatest & best country.

19.-Nana-Independence Yes we should commemorate the 60th Anniversary - it is worth celebratingWe all have roles to play. Like we saw in the trooping of the colours we should all be like the Colour Ensigns and carry the Ghana Flag with dignity and with integrity.

Yes with God being our help we can and will do it. Let’s not be too cynical but be pragmatic optimists who will all contribute to make Ghana the greatest & strongest country.

The parade was great & for me the honour done our ex sports heroes personified by Prof Zumzum was the highest point for me in the celebration. Yes we have great Ghanaians and Prof Zumzum

21.-Nana-Independence Yes we should commemorate the 60th Anniversary - it is worth celebratingMy only small pain is I should have been the on horse back as parade commander if I had followed my dream & joined the army. But no worries you can’t have it all. The parades remind me of my days in the great cadet of St. Augustine’s College and Queen Elizabeth II hall of UST.

I believe that Leadership is not just Political leadership but Leadership in very aspect of the word. Lets all shine in our corners where we are. We should also support each other as Ghanaians 1st before extending our hands to strangers. We should allow the Princes of Land to marry the Land not Strangers 1st.
