Lets all act to stop galamzey – illegal mining

Oh Ghana when will we learn? Why are we allowing Galamzay, illegal mining to destroy our now and our future?

Where are the leaders in these communities? Where are the local authorities, the MCEs, the Assembly persons, the Police, the Chiefs, the Priest, Pastors ,the teachers and all in these communities.

Why are we destroying ourselves. Posterity will not spare us. I remember coming under attack of the Retired Miners Association of Obuasi, when I said that the authorities should arrest and prosecute them. I still stand by that. This nonsense should stop; we all have a roll to play.

Lets stop complaining and act, no matter how small your positive action is together we will solve this calamity. I am not against artisanal mining, those who have been given permits to mine. Yes they should mine but mine responsibly.

But this destruction of our environment in the name of creating wealth for the small-scale miner is chewing our tongues and thinking that we have some delicious delicacy.

Our now will be terrible and we will have no future. What I will do is to write a petition to the Catholic Bishop Conference, the Christian Council, the Pentecostal Council, the Charismatic group and the office of the Chief Imam. They all have leaders within these communities they should get them to start a an active campaign against all involved in this dastardly acts. We hear there are some very big men involved in these activities stop. If we find you out we will expose you.
