We need to clean up the GJA

5.-GJA We need to clean up the GJAThis is what I told my brother Ben on JoyNews today

Ben but GJA elections were allegedly sold. So how dare we as journalists question politicians for vote buying. It is a shame we did not deal with that allegation of buying votes in GJA elections.

Rest assured we shall deal with it. I understand that the petition brought by the Western Regional Chairman of the GJA was put off because of a technicality. https://thefourthestategh.com/2022/06/17/bribery-scandal-hits-gja-elections-tobinco-boss-accused/

Mr President of GJA, it is in your interest to deal with the issue and clear your name. You deserve that, our noble association requires that. I will be petitioning you soon. I am putting together the dossier.

Please if you are a member of the GJA, a journalist or a media person with any information that can help us unravel the truth please email it to me at kenneth@ashigbey.com.

If any of the candidates gave you any money during the campaign, no matter how small, let us know? Who are those who voted in the election, is it true the register was padded with people who are not members of the association? We need to know. If there is any wrongdoing that you know of, no matter who committed it during the just-ended elections. Please help me with it. Evidence is the name of the game.

Maybe we should grant amnesty & indemnity to the current executives so none would lose their position after our investigation. But we would unearth the truth and clean up our act so as journalists we would be able to hold politicians accountable to the people & stamp out the monecracy from of our politics. We should let the message matter rather than money.

We owe it to ourselves to fix the GJA, revise our constitution, make the association more relevant to us members and be the proper 4th Estate of the Realme.

Getting out of the association is not the solution, breaking out just makes us weaker.

We should stay in and fix the Ghana Journalist Association.

I believe that Leadership is not just Political leadership but Leadership in very aspect of the word. Lets all shine in our corners where we are. We should also support each other as Ghanaians 1st before extending our hands to strangers. We should allow the Princes of Land to marry the Land not Strangers 1st.
