Operation Vanguard’s Operations still Arresting Chinese in 2019 – What will happen to them?

The Chinese are still at it in 2019, on the 5th of January Operation Vanguard arrested 5 Chinese and 3 Ghanaians. So what will happen to these Chinese? Will we have them deported and the Ghanaians prosecuted? Will they, the Chinese be prosecuted at all, Obuasi Police what is happening to these Chines and Ghanaians who have been handed over to you? Operation Vanguard’s Forward Operating Base (FOB) East on Friday 4 January 2019 conducted patrols to illegal mining site in the general area of Hiakose in the Manso Nkwanta District.

The patrol team seized the following items;

  • 2 excavator control boards,
  • 4 excavator monitors,
  • 1 Toyata Hilux pick up,
  • 1 motorcycle,
  • 2 excavator batteries l,
  • 1 car washing machine
  • and a water pumping machine.

FOB Central on the same day also conducted patrols to illegal mining site in the general area of Ayamfuri in the Upper Denkyira West District. The patrol team seized

  • 3 motorcycles,
  • 3 excavator monitors,
  • 1 control board,
  • 4 water pumping machines
  • and a welding machine.

Operation Vanguard’s Forward Operating Base (FOB) Ashanti on Saturday, 5 January 2019 conducted patrols to illegal mining site in the general area of Amponyaase in the Akrofuom District. The patrol team arrested Five Chinese and three Ghanaian suspected illegal miners. The suspects include;

  1. Huang Junsi 40,
  2. Lan Yan Bing 38,
  3. Wu Fangzi 59,
  4. Huang Jun Hang 46,
  5. Wen 41,
  6. Owusu Agyemang 37,
  7. Emmanuel Osei 28
  8. and Donatus Kobina 24.

The team seized

  • 5 gold scale machines,
  • 3 communication radios,
  • 12 BB cartridges,
  • 2 pump action gun
  • 1 motorcycle,
  • 1 pistol magazine,
  • 1 GPS
  • and 10# 9mm cartridges.

All the suspects have been handed over to the Obuasi central police station for further investigation.

FOB Central also conducted patrols to illegal mining site in the general area of Ayamfuri in the Upper Denkyira West District and arrested one Ghanaian suspected illegal miner. The suspects Emmanuel Adjie 22. He has been handed over to the Atekyem police station for further investigation. The patrol team seized the following items; 1 water pumping machine, 1 motorcycle, 1 control board, 1 starter among others.

Seizing and not prosecuting and putting people in prison will never solve the problem !! The AG office is useless and should be totally dissolved
