Good Job Nenyi Issiw for fighting #StopGalamsey (Illegal sand winning) with 1D1F

Congratulation to my brother from another mother, Nenyi George Andah for providing leadership for your people in the Awutu Senya West Constituency. You are living to your status as a Royal and Traditional Warrior, Nenyi Issiw. The modern day war is against poverty, disease, squalor, illiteracy and under development. You are involved in major development projects including construction of schools, medical out reach, infusing the youth and the people with the can do spirit, etc. This is what we expect from leadership and we all need to also play that role.

This initiative in your area is in an area of great interest to me, it fits into the #StopGalamsey war and linked with the 1D1F. I am happy that you do not talk about plans to come but plans under execution. Work has started at Imperial Homes Awutu Beraku Concrete Factory, a 1D1F initiative taking off.

I believe that the project is apt, as it takes into consideration resources in the locality but which is being unsustainably exploited. Yes there is a lot of illegal sand winning taking place in the Awutu Senya West Constituency destroying the environment. This is a galamsey of a sort with very devastating consequence for the environment and the people. It is great that we are just not #StopingGalamsey, illegal sand winning but allowing the resource to be mined sustainably, also create jobs and add value.

WhatsApp-Image-2018-08-01-at-08.08.37 Good Job Nenyi Issiw for fighting #StopGalamsey (Illegal sand winning) with 1D1FYes sand is a critical raw material in the concrete production and to quote Nenyi “so now we can control the illegal activity, generate some revenue for the assembly, help reclaim the damaged land and provide employment for the youth. For now they have engaged 10 locals, 1 skilled and 9 unskilled and the plan is to ramp up to 45 labour force

This is might be small start but it is a great initiative based on need of the people and has sustainability built into it. For me an advocate of #StopGalamsey, this is an initiative I will celebrate any day, no matter who does it. If I have my brother do it makes it even sweeter.

Congrats my brother…
