You Have Greatness In You – Bismark Tay

Potential according to Dr John C Maxwell is one of the greatest words in any language. To him, ‘a person’s potential implies possibilities, it heralds hope, and it unveils greatness’. To have a potential is to have the opportunity to become better, great and powerful. For so long, psychologists have maintained that human potential is infinite. In other words, the opportunity for us as humans to be more or to do more is unlimited. There is no limit to what we can be.

This is the reason why you’ll a see a person today who’s achieving less and few years later, his or her life is on a completely different trajectory. The infinity of human potential is true for all human beings. The opportunity to become better, great and highly successful in your area of giftedness is not reserved for few selected or special people. It is there for all of us. You and I inclusive. We all have the opportunity, the potential to be the greatest in our areas of strength. You can be the greatest of your kind to ever live on this earth and I can be the greatest of my kind to ever live here.

There has been some before us and there will be others after us. The seeds of greatness are in every one of us. But unfortunately, despite all of us having the seeds of greatness, not all of us will have our seeds germinate and grow to bear their kind of fruits. Why? Just as there are conditions necessary for the germination and growth of seeds on a farm, so there are conditions for the germination of the seeds of greatness in you and I. To grow to be your best cannot be by accident or just luck. It demands a consciousness that ensures the guarantee of the necessary conditions of growth.

So what are these conditions necessary for the germination and growth of the seeds of greatness in you and I? For over 50 years, Dr. John C. Maxwell, the world’s number 1 leadership expert has been passionate about personal development. In his book the 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth, he shares the core of what he has learned about developing yourself so you that have the best chance of becoming the person you were created to be.
