The LOC of FIDIC-GAMA 2015 Conference visit Graphic

The Local organizing committee of the 2015 FIDIC-GAMA Annual Conference to be hosted in Accra, Ghana from 12-15 April 2015 called on the Managing Director of Graphic Communication Group Ltd, Ing. Kenneth Ashigbey on the 18th February 2015.

The FIDIC-GAMA Annual Conference is the biggest annual networking event for consulting engineers in Africa and provides a forum for consulting engineers, government officials, local administrative authorities, funding agencies, contractors, suppliers of construction equipment and materials, investors and other stakeholders in the built environment from the public and private sectors.

The conference provides the forum for members and stakeholders to share ideas on best practices as well as learn from each other effective ways of dealing with diverse challenges in order to achieve value for money and provide a sustainable quality of life.

GAMA is the Group of Africa Member Associations of FIDIC, the International Federation of Consulting Engineers. Founded in 1913, FIDIC has as its objective, promotion of the interests of consulting engineering firms globally. It is best known for its range of standard conditions of contract for construction, plant and design-build and other suite of documents which are widely used all over the world. The conference is one of the most important events on the FIDIC Calendar.

The LOC called on GCGL to explore and discuss opportunity for partnering in the organization of the conference. The LOC took the opportunity to invite GCGL to fully participate in the conference which has as its theme “Developing and Sustaining Africa’s Infrastructure: Promoting African Consulting Engineering Partnerships”

The GAMA conference brings together international delegates from across Africa and the rest of the world, making this conference not just a consulting engineers meeting to discuss issues related to the industry but also another opportunity to present the uniqueness of our beloved country, Ghana. The conference also does offer direct business opportunities for our hospitality industry i.e. hoteliers, tourist sites etc. About 500 delegates including the President and Managing Director of FIDIC are expected to attend the conference.

Present at the meeting was the Chairman of the Ghana Consulting Engineers Association Ing. Kofi Asare-Yeboah as well as the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) Ing. Albert Ogyiri, and three others members of the LOC.
