The-Bishop-of-Sefwi-Wiawso-Diocese-of-the-Anglican-Church-150x144 Bishop Abraham Cobbinah Ackah Demand Government Release Of Anglican Mission SchoolsThe Bishop of Sefwi Wiawso Diocese of the Anglican Church says the church is in a position to better maintain schools established by the church in the country. This was made known during the church’s biennial synod conference organized for its leaders in the diocese.

The Anglican Diocese of Wiawso was split from the Sekondi Diocese in 2006, which is 8 years old and has 22 parishes with over 80 churches. The Bishop of the diocese, Rt. Rev. Abraham Cobbinah Ackah sought to suggest that the Ghana Education Service has failed to properly maintain their basic schools.

Bishop Ackah believes that the situation of high level of moral decay in their various basic schools is due to lack of active involvement of the church leaders.

According to him, the regional managers of mission schools have been made ‘toothless bulldogs’, a situation which makes it difficult for churches to control activities in their schools.

He used the occasion to chastise people who constantly criticize the government without suggesting solutions, and appealed to the president to pay a listening ear to suggestions for better running of the nation’s economy.

He called on all religious bodies to pray for the nation as it faces economic hardships and the threat of Ebola viral disease.
