My Sharing on the Homily Sunday, November 6, 2011 Fr. Minta – Wisdom

Wisdom 6:12-16

Book of Wisdom is a Detrocanonical Book,

• People were questioning God about why the wicked is prospering & the riteuous were suffering
• Wisdom is resplindid & unfading – everything will come to pass.
• Lord grant me the gift of Wisdom
• She is freely perceived by those who seek Her. Know that God is Wisdom.
• Wisdom is only available to those who seek Her.
• Wisdom hasten to make Herself know, unlike most things, money, health, which try hard to evade us
• Whoever watches for Her at dawn will never be wanting., shall not be disappointed. Never leave the bed without praying & if you are not careful that is the time you will be disappointed, when you leave without communing with the Most High.
• Prayer at Dawn is critical – best when you hit at 2:00am
• The reading is asking us to search for God. – Wisdom is God Himself
• Ken do not forget about God, He has put me where I have gotten to now, do not forget that no matter what happens – Fr. Minta’s admonition to me.
• 2nd reading, Thessalonians :13-18, some went to tell them that Christ is coming soon so they should stop working, with the idling, they started to Gossip. So Paul wrote to them to tell that we do not know when that will happen. Death will surely come, but we need be prepared.
• The Gospel tells about the 10 Virgins, in Aient Israel wedding is in 3 parts, the Engagement, the couple might not be aware, the 2nd is the ritual & the 3rd is the Feast.
• Lord make me he wisest of the 5 wise virgins to be prepared before hand. Otherwise great opportunity will pass us by.
• The demarcation line between wisdom & foolishness is thin. Do we have extra oil, what type of oil is it. It is not enough to come to church, it is the extra oil that We carry.
• Mat 25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
• It is the Extra Oil that makes the difference, that is Wisdom, that is Jesus. – Amen
