BLAKOFE THRILLS AS BLAKYONCE
On Sunday 18th December, all roads led to Zar Zar’s wine bar and restaurant in Stratford, London for a
night of laughter, verse, and the unrehearsed. Amongst the numerous acts taking the stage was Blakofe
who came on as her comic character, Blakyonce.
From the moment Blakyonce danced onto stage to Beyonce’s “Rule the World” the audience knew they
were guaranteed a good laugh. And they were not disappointed. From her “blond Brazilian hair” to her
“Taiwanese nails” and “Filipino eyelashes” Blakyonce hit the nail right on the head as she touched on
everything from black women and their weaves to the X-Factor to cultural differences between England
and Africa. Speaking to people after the show these were some of the comments “Wow, Blakyonce is
really funny. This is the kind of thing me and my friends enjoy.” “Blakyonce needs a bigger stage. She is
brilliant.”
